Harcourts Victoria, Franchise Development Manager, Adam Hinds has recently returned from Kyushu, Japan where he completed a week-long cycling journey in support of Ride As One, a charity bike ride organised by the Leukaemia Foundation.
The ride, which took place between 21-28 April, raises funds for research into blood cancers.
This is Adam’s second time completing a Ride As One challenge, having also completed a ride last year.
“Last year’s ride was a fantastic experience, being able to get fit, see another country and raise money for a wonderful cause. This year with the trip going to Japan, again I thought what better way to see Japan than by bike?” Says Adam.
Adam raised x for the cause, with the group of 40 riders raising over $200,000 in total.
The ride wasn’t without challenges, Adam admits.
“We really had to live and breathe the Japanese culture during the trip, there was a lot of miso soup and rice for breakfast,” he says.
“It was an awesome experience getting to see Japan in a different light – we were in areas that tourists would not normally go. It meant we didn’t see any English-speaking people for eight days,” says Adam.
By far the biggest highlight of all Adam admits was being able to raise a huge amount of money for a fantastic cause.
