At the gala 2018 Real Estate Institute New South Wales Awards for Excellence, Harcourts Hills Living was awarded with the Real Estate Agency of the Year - Medium. This Award for Excellence recognises outstanding agency practice in the residential sector.
Based in Baulkham Hills, northwest of Sydney, Harcourts Hills Living is owned by Melinda and Andrew Drane (pictured), and is a multi-award-winning real estate office, including accolades for 2016 Local Business Award Winners and 2016 Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence.
“Winning this award was a true team effort and we are so proud of everyone involved. A big thank you also to our wonderful Hills Community who have supported us over the last 11 years,” said Andrew Drane. “I’m humbled that Harcourts Hills Living has won such an important industry award, but I want to brag on behalf of my colleagues. These days I’m surrounded by talented agents and the best, most motivated, dedicated and resourceful agency staff I could ever have hoped for. They absolutely deserve an award of this standing. Thank you to REINSW for encouraging such a great team, and hopefully it will go a long way toward motivating them to have another stellar year!”
Harcourts New South Wales CEO Mark Morrison said that the recognition is a credit to the entire office.
“It is no surprise that Melinda and Andrew have created such a successful business,” said Mr Morrison. “Their approach to client service, care for the community, plus the nurturing of a great team is what sets them apart in the market. They are deserving to be the very first Harcourts office to have achieved this recognition by the state industry peak body.”
The team effort was a central theme to everything the Harcourts Hills Living office undertook over the past year, according to Mr Drane.
“The key for me has been an office team that consists of loyal, dedicated and capable people who are able to deliver on every promise we make to clients and understand what it is to work as a great team. We spend a lot on training and motivating staff, but the best motivation really is a happy place of work. That comes down to the attitude of everyone. What’s more, happy people are creative people, and the level of creativity in every task, from the most mundane to the most imaginative, never ceases to impress me.”
When asked about the business and its connection to the greater Hills regions, Mr Drane went on to explain that caring for the community is an important part of the entire team’s life, both professionally and personally.
“Something that has made us all better operators is the fact that we care about our community,” he said. “We strive to depart from corporate lingo, sloganeering and marketing and advertising tricks, and instead earnestly engage with our community as corporate citizens but also as fellow residents and business peers. It adds a level of maturity and authenticity to what we do, and to be honest, for the sake of our industry I’d like to see every new agency that hangs up its shingle strive to see themselves the same way. It will be good for them and for the rest of us.”
The Real Estate Institute of New South Wales’ 21st annual Awards for Excellence took place at a Gala Dinner at Sydney Town Hall.
REINSW President Leanne Pilkington says the best, bravest and brightest work across the industry was recognised.
“The 2018 REINSW Awards for Excellence highlighted the industry’s biggest successes and most outstanding achievements across ten agency and 12 individual categories,” says Pilkington.
Harcourts was named a REINSW Awards for Excellence Finalist in Communications category.
