You’d be forgiven for thinking that there hasn’t been much happening on the real estate front in 2020, considering the impact the coronavirus pandemic has had not only on the industry but on the community as a whole.
Western Australian based office Harcourts Mandurah however has far and away exceeded all expectations, by this month clocking up over 4000 registered sales since its inception a decade ago.
Harcourts Mandurah is the first office in the Peel region to manage the feat, an achievement made all the more exceptional considering they are one of the youngest franchises in the area, established for just on 10 years now.
Harcourts Mandurah Director, Ben Hatch (photo) said the figure far outweighed that of their nearest competitor, adding that it did not include conjunctional sales which could see the number closer to 5000.“It’s a massive milestone for us,” Mr Hatch admitted. “Out of 116 agencies that have sold in the Mandurah Greater Region, we currently have 26.17% market share of sold properties.
“It’s been a lot of hard work, but we’ve got 3 really active directors, great systems and a great culture in place which has certainly helped us establish our brand and our business here.”
He said despite the challenges associated with COVID-19, his office and staff had managed to navigate through this unprecedented time with confidence and success.
“We geared up for the worst, but our main focus was on retaining all of our staff, which I’m extremely proud to say that we did.
“Through the first 6 weeks we realised our buyer demand had increased. With mining gearing up and covid levels remaining low, I think we will see a lot of people moving to WA.
“If you’re considering selling in the next 3 years or so, it’s probably time you move that forward, because we’re not sure how long this great market will last.”
Harcourts WA State CEO, Paul Blakeley said the statistics around Harcourts Mandurah for the preceding 12 months had been nothing short of spectacular, adding that its market share was now almost double its nearest competitor.
“Being the first real estate office in the Mandurah region to exceed 4000 sales is an outstanding achievement,” Mr Blakeley said.
“The team at Harcourts Mandurah continue to set the benchmark year on year and these results are a testament to their dedication to servicing the needs of the community.
“We are extremely proud of their results and their people first approach to business - this is the cornerstone of their success.”
