International real estate franchise group Harcourts has taken positive steps towards dealing with the COVID-19 virus and the challenges it currently presents to its franchise network, clients, the industry and the community as a whole.
The company has taken the proactive measure of cancelling all its upcoming HX conferences and large events, which were to be held across the United States, Australia and New Zealand.
Harcourts International CEO Steve Caradoc-Davies, said although difficult, the decision was made with the health and well-being of the Harcourts team, our partners and the general public as the primary consideration.
“This is not a decision we’ve taken lightly, but we believe it’s the right call to make in line with our values of people first and doing the right thing,” Mr Caradoc-Davies explained.
“The Harcourts network is still seeing strong results based on buyer and auction activity over the past week. At Harcourts Coastal, located on the Gold Coast, we have observed some outstanding results, with 32 groups passing through one open home, and a separate Northern Gold Coast waterfront selling for AUD$3.1 million. In Brisbane our corporate auction team saw a clearance rate consistent with previous weeks, with most auctions having strong buyer registrations.
In Sydney, Harcourts The Property People in Campbelltown saw several open homes have in excess of 15 groups in attendance, and Harcourts Lifestyles had a standout sale of a vacant block of land for AUD$923,000 in Mount Annan.
Our team in the USA also experienced strong open home attendee numbers in Newport Beach. In New Zealand activity remains strong across both provincial and metropolitan areas.”
