Leading national real estate franchise network Harcourts Australia is this week celebrating agents Kate Smith, from Harcourts Smith, and Alistair Agius, from Harcourts Hills Living, for their inclusion in this year’s REB Top 100 Agents list for 2020.
The REB Top 100 Agents ranking is the premier benchmark for real estate professionals across Australia. The ranking highlights excellence across the board, from the highest number of sales and listings to the greatest total sales volume.
Harcourts Australia CEO Marcus Williams said that fact that agents representing Harcourts had been recognised on this year’s list was testament to the people first mentality that the brand was synonymous for.
“I am absolutely thrilled that Kate and Alistair have been named as two of the REB’s top 100 agents for 2020,” Mr Williams said.
“It is not only a reflection of their hard work and dedication individually, but further endorses the commitment to the Harcourts values which each and every one of our team dedicates themselves to on a daily basis.”
Now in its ninth year, the REB Top 100 ranking identifies those a cut above the rest, showcasing those agents who have navigated their way through challenging markets and used their expertise to ensure the best results.
Those who make the prestigious list are given industry recognition as among the best in the industry.
For Harcourts Business Owner, Kate Smith (photo right), it’s not only the second time she has made the top 100, but the first time she was named as the top listing agent in the country.
“The last 12 months have undoubtedly been the best I’ve had in real estate and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that it coincides with me joining the Harcourts network,” she explained.
“It’s our 1 year anniversary this month and for me it was a pretty simple decision (to join Harcourts), I was looking to grow my business and heighten my profile and I saw Harcourts as the perfect brand to connect with.”
After 19 years in the industry and working as everything from a receptionist to a business owner, Ms Smith said the latest accolade was fantastic recognition for the hard work she and her team put in.
“It means you get some exposure nationally, within the local community and across the state which is fantastic. I know that my incredible team and I put in a lot of hours so recognition like this really puts a spring in our step especially in the current (COVID-19 affected) climate.”
A Senior Sales Consultant at Harcourts Hills Living, NSW, Mr Agius said he and his team had worked “extremely hard” to build a successful and reputable business, adding that the recognition was great reward for dedication to the job.
“It’s fantastic not just for me but for the entire team. It shows us all that you’ll get from this job exactly what you put in - it’s a great indication of who you can be and what you can achieve,” he said.
“We’re sincerely grateful to the clients who trust us with their business and we’ll continue to work hard to make sure we remain among the best in the industry.”
Mr Agius (photo left) also wanted to acknowledge his Director Andrew Drane, who he credits with giving him the opportunity to grow his business and the platform to be successful.
“Without Andrew and the environment he provided, I really don’t think I would be where I am today,” he added.
Ms Smith had this piece of advice for the next crop of budding REB Top 100 listers:
“It can take a few years to get the right support network around you, but when you find the right team it’s a life changer. Combine that with a great work ethic and resilience in the face of adversity and you’ve got a recipe for success.”
* The metrics used to generate the REB Top 100 Agents ranking include the number of properties sold, the total dollar volume of properties sold and the average sale value.
